My PS3 Broke, Help!

Help me!  My PlayStation3 is broken and I've only got 3 weeks to either get it fixed or buy a new one.

On March 8th, MLB The Show '11 is set to be released.  What is "The Show"?  Well, it's only the best videogame in the history of videogames.  Have a look at this video and try and tell me I'm wrong.  The game is so realistic, I feel like I'm watching a real baseball game.

But back to my PS3.  It doesn't work and I'm starting to get the shakes.

It happened a few months ago while I was playing MLB "The Show" '10.  The game just stopped working.  Then, an error code showed up on the screen.  At first, I thought it was just a computer being a computer.   I restarted it and tried again.  To no avail.  My PS3 was shot, done, fried, not working.

I don't remember the exact error code, but I looked it up online and found out it's a disc reading issue.   Bottom line - it won't read BluRay's anymore.

I heard that you can get your PS3 fixed with a "fix-it kit" thingy (pictured on the right) but I'm not technically sound enough to pull this off.

So what should I do?  Do I purchase a new one or find someone out there to fix it for me?
