There had been some speculation that the New York Yankees would make a play for Colorado Rockies' Third Baseman Nolan Arenado if and when he became a free agent. If reports from ESPN's Jeff Passan are correct they'll have to wait a very long time. Breaking news out of Colorado is and Arenado have agreed to an 8-year contract extension worth approximately $255 million.

This extension makes a ton of sense and seems to be more proof of teams looking to keep their best players opposed to going after big free agents like Bryce Harper and Dallas Kuechel who are still unsigned.
