Of Top Rated Schools in Area, Bethlehem is #1 Locally, #158 Nationally in Latest Survey
The Bethlehem Central School District was honored in a recent nationwide "best of" school survey taken by over one million Niche.com users according to a release sent out by the school on Wednesday.
The latest annual ranking places them #1 in the entire area, #30 in New York state, and #158 out of over 10,000 school districts nationally.
Kudos to the staff, administration, parents, and students who continue to maintain a level of excellence during a time when traditional teaching and learning methods have been thrown out of whack in part because of a global pandemic.
“This is a well-timed honor. Educating students against the backdrop of a global pandemic for more than 18 months should qualify all schools districts, teachers and staff to be celebrated,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe.
Other area school districts may be feeling a sense of pride this morning too. The same survey credited many other Capital Region school districts who are tops in the area and rank highly in the state according to the Niche.com survey.
Here are the Top 6 school districts in the area. State rankings are in parathesis
- #6 Shenendehowah Central School (#89)
- #5 Voorheesville Central School District (#81)
- #4 East Greenbush Central School District (#73)
- #3 Niskayuna Central School District (#41)
- #2 North Colonie Central School District (#37)
- #1 Bethlehem Central School District (#30)
According to the information released on Wednesday from the BCSD, "The Niche Best School Districts ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users."
