The Yankees would rally late, but a questionable call would seal their fate as the Orioles won Saturday night 5-4.

The Yankees would get on the board first in the top of the 1st with a Sacrifice fly by Alex Rodriguez that scored Derek Jeter and another run in the top of the 2nd thanks to an RBI double by Russel Martin that scored Ichiro Suzuki.

The Orioles would tie it up quickly in the bottom of the 2nd with back to back homers from recent Yankee killer Mark Reynolds and Lew Ford. They would take the lead in the bottom of the 3rd thanks to an RBI double from J.J. Hardy scoring Nick Markakis. Hardy would add another run in the bottom of the 6th with a home run that was just over the glove of a leaping Ichiro. Ford would get another RBI later in the inning with a single that scored Adam Jones.

A-Rod would try to get something going in the top of the 8th as he hit a blast to deep center. That would be all the runs the Yankees would score. Then again they would start a rally in the top of the 9th. Ichiro would single as would Eric Chavez. Derek Jeter would bunt down the 3rd base line and load up the bases. Nick Swisher would hit into a fielder's choice that could have been a double play but beat the throw to first scoring Ichiro. Mark Teixeria would ground out into what was called a double play by the umpires to end the game, but replays showed that Teixera was actually safe.

These two teams are once again tied for first place in the AL East. The final game of this 4 game series will be Sunday after noon at Camden Yards as Freddie Garcia will take the mound for the Yankees up against Zach Britton.
