Rivers and Saratoga Casinos To Close Temporarily
In press releases sent out today from both Rivers Casino in Schenectady and the Saratoga Casino in Saratoga Springs, the rippling local and global effects of the coronovirus will temporarily suspend their operations.In the release sent out by the management and staff at Rivers Casino and Resorts Schenectady, they suspended all casino and hotel operations for the next 14 days as of around 11 a.m. on Monday.
In a message on their Facebook page, The Saratoga Casino and Hotel announced that they have suspended gaming operations as of 8 p.m. on Monday but they said that the hotel will remain open at this time. Saratoga was a bit more vague in terms of the length of the suspension not saying for how long it would be.
Saratoga Casino and Hotel also informed their public that they were awaiting information from the New York Gaming Commission regarding harness racing.
Both casinos stated separately that there have been "no known cases of COVID-19 at the property."
