Points were at a premium on Saturday afternoon as Schuylerville and Port Jervis met with a spot in the Class B state championship game on the line.

The Section 2 champs fell behind 7-0 before answering with a long touchdown pass from Owen Sherman to Evan Jeffords. The Black Horses then went for two and converted to take the lead. At 8-7, both defenses refused to budge and Schuylerville survived a late fourth quarter field goal attempt by Port Jervis.

Schuylerville has shown an ability to win close games late. John Bowen's squad won the Class B Super Bowl on the last play of the game and all of that could bode well for the Black Horses as they get set to play for a title in Syracuse next Sunday, December 1st.
