Popular Upstate NY Campground Included in List of America's 15 Best for 2023

A story from New York Upstate shared details from a list compiled by the outdoor magazine Country Living, which ranked the 15 best campsites in the United States from the 2023 camping season.

Included in the magazine's top 15 was HTR Niagara Campground & Resort, located at 2659 Whitehaven Road in Grand Island, New York.

The campsite recently re-branded from Branches of Niagara Campground, and sits right outside of Buffalo, offering cabin rentals, RV sites & yurt camping. The campground boasts a number of amenities for its patrons, including bathhouses, a general store, a dog park, a heated swimming pool, and laundry units.

Interested parties can choose to book deluxe cabins, which include full beds, table-and-chair sets, heat/air conditioning and more. You can also book deluxe-plus and standard-plus cabins, cottages and yurts, or choose to bring your own tent or RV.

A few other campsites that made the list are within driving distance of the Capital Region, should you want to expand your destination list even more. Those include:

• Smuggler's Notch State Park, Vermont

• Acadia National Park Campgrounds, Maine

• Sandy Pines Glamping and Campground, Maine
