Coming off a big victory over Troy on Tuesday, CBA of Albany ran into trouble on Friday night when it lost to Bishop Maginn, 65-59, in a Big 10 game.

CBA of Albany had to work overtime on Tuesday night to get the best of Troy in a key Big 10 boys basketball game.

The CBA at Troy boys basketball rematch is tonight.  On Jan. 3, Troy defeated the Brothers, 45-43, to snap their 40-game Big 10 win streak.

The second day of holiday events took place on Wednesday.  So, if your sport is high school basketball, wrestling, indoor track or hockey, we got you covered.

As expected, there are several key matchups as the Section II football tournament continues with semifinals on Friday night.  In Class AA, unbeaten Shenendehowa will entertain LaSalle while CBA of Albany travels to Columbia.

It was a perfect night for longtime Shenendehowa head football coach Brent Steuerwald.  The Plainsmen posted their fifth shutout of the season with a 42-0 win over CBA of Albany to capture the Section II Class AA Empire Division championship Saturday night.

For the second straight week, Shenendehowa football will be involved in another game with an unbeaten team. This time it's CBA of Albany.  The two will clash in a big Class AA Empire Division game on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Steuerwald Stadium on the Shenendehowa campus.

After allowing a quick touchdown, Shenendehowa regrouped and got the best of Ballston Spa, 37-20, in a key Class AA Empire Division high school football game Friday night.

It's a battle of the unbeatens - Shenendehowa at Ballston Spa in a Class AA Empire Division showdown at 7 Friday night.  Both teams are tied for first along with CBA of Albany with 3-0 records. They all sport 4-0 overall records.

Several area teams flexed their muscles in area high school football action on Friday night.

The NFL owners have voted 31-0 to approve a 10-year collective bargaining agreement with the players. The players still have to vote on this, and are reviewing the CBA voted by the owners to see if their amendments have been added.

This past Saturday night was daddy and Zachary time.  I decided to take my two (soon to be three) year old son to the Albany Legends basketball game at CBA in Albany.
