Green Tech was by far away the best team in Glens Falls on Championship Saturday, and it goes to show you the regular season doesn't mean much.

There were 24 games on the Section 2 high school football schedule for the final Friday of September. Big road wins, close games and upsets highlighted the halfway point of the gridiron season. Other games saw some of the Capital Region's most highly ranked teams continue to roll in 2022.

Only 3 football games were on the Section 2 docket for a beautiful fall Saturday afternoon. All three games featured ranked teams. We have the remainder of Friday night's scores, plus a preview of next week's big match-ups.

Tuesday is always a fun night in high school basketball. One thing I learned very early in coaching, kids love taking the bus to other schools. It's fun to play at home in front of your friends and classmates but the bus rides with your teammates was even better. Another thing that I learned, score reporting is sometimes done the following day. So, be patient as we try to get you all of the scores and more game details this season.

Just when you think that Glens Falls native and BYU star Jimmer Fredette was going to slow down in the NCAA Tournament, he dishes out yet another incredible performance.

Heading down the college basketball home stretch, Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette is in a head-to-head battle with UConn's Kemba Walker for the National Player of the Year award.  After Walker dropped 33 points in the Huskies Big East Semifinal victory over Syracuse, it was Jimmer's turn.
