It was long overdue.  The story of Jackie Robinson, the man who integrated baseball in 1947, changed sports and America forever, and had the backing of crusty Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey along the way.  But as they say, better late than never.  And it was indeed a late home run in extra innings in the theatre.

Today is very special to Major League Baseball, as the league holds their annual celebration of Jackie Robinson Day. During every season on April 15th, MLB commemorates the anniversary of Robinson breaking the color barrier when he made his debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. This season is particularly special, as the movie "42" was just released last Friday and had the best box off
