Since the end of their 2012 NFL season, the New York Giants have remained relatively quiet, aside from the two days the team spent purging their roster of running back Ahmad Bradshaw, defensive tackle Chris Canty and linebacker Michael Boley to clear cap space. Now, the Giants have made their first move to show how they're spending the new money they have available.

During the early part of the 2011 season, the biggest question mark on the New York Giants roster was defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, who held out for the start of training camp because he wanted a better contract. As this offseason begins, a certain running back entering the final year of his contract has already expressed interest in restructuring his deal: Brandon Jacobs.
