University at Albany has earned a 14 seed and will travel to College Station, Texas to take on Texas A&M in the first round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, as announced on Monday evening. After weeks of rumors, Texas A&M is set to leave the Big 12 and to join the SEC, the league said on Sunday. The move will go into effect next July. “We are excited to begin competition in the nation’s premier athletic conference,” Texas A&M President R. Bowen Loftin said in a statement.

The college athletic landscape could look drastically different in the next few years. This morning, the Southeastern Conference presidents voted unanimously to accept Texas A&M as the league's 13th member.  However, the Aggies aren't quite a member of the SEC just yet.
