It was another gorgeous day at historic Saratoga Race Course and the fans filed in early.  What would they see?  History and a Triple Crown race winner steal the show.

Kentucky Derby winner and Triple Crown threat Orb drew post-position #1 and the rail for the upcoming Preakness in Maryland.  What does this mean?  Let's take a look at why it matters, why it doesn't matter and a final thought.

Orb won the Kentucky Derby.  Right after that, whenever any horse wins, you will hear horse racing fans say, "Well, this horse has a great chance to win the Triple Crown."  Well of course it does.  You have to win the Derby in order to win The Preakness in order to win the Belmont Stakes.  But Orb really does have an awesome chance, and here are the reasons why.

In the looming shadow of I'll Have Another's absence, it was Union Rags coming along the rail to claim the 2012 Belmont Stakes.

In a shocking and downright depressing turn of events, I'll Have Another - the Triple Crown hopeful - has scratched from Saturday's Belmont Stakes.

On Saturday, I'll Have Another will take to theBelmont Stakes for a run at horse racing history.  He'll face eleven other horses in his quest for the Triple Crown.  Below, we give a brief description of each horse, and list what - from a betting stand point - you can do with each.

In a gutsy performance, the Derby winner has done it again.  He ran down another impossibly brilliant run of Bodemeister to win the Preakness and take us to Belmont with Triple Crown hopes very much alive. @JoeBianchino

Now.  I know what you're thinking.  "The Belmont?  Who cares?"  Well I care! And you should too!  Even though there is no chance of a Triple Crown winner emerging from Saturday's race, the rubber match between Shackleford and Animal Kingdom will certainly be a great watch.  Here are my thoughts on the race:

The 2011 race for the Triple Crown will be renewed this weekend in Saturday's Preakness Stakes.  The grade one race at Baltimore's Pimlico Race Course features five entries from the Kentucky Derby, including Derby winner Animal Kingdom.  He'll look to beat thirteen other horses to the wire Saturday, and take the second jewel of the Triple Crown.
