Ten Confusing Things About the Capital Region for New Residents
"Wait, I have to drive on the WHAT?"
"Hold on, they're performing at WHAT breakfast food-shaped venue?"
It's hard finding your footing when you're not a native of the Capital Region. I was born and raised in northern Connecticut, and packed the covered wagons up to head to college...in southern Connecticut. So, the Capital Region is a new place for me, and though I've been here for more than half of a year, I'm still learning as I go.
Let me tell you, I was VERY confused when I first got here. I had been talking, and thinking, a certain way for my entire life, and though I'm less than two hours away from my hometown, when I arrived in the region, I arrived in a different world.
Here are ten things about the Capital Region that I simply could not understand when I first arrived in Upstate New York. Enjoy!
