That's right Yankee fans! The guy nicknamed "the experience" for his up-and-down starts and coin-flip stuff has returned. On Thursday night the Yankees re-acquired Sergio Mitre from the Brewers in exchange for cash.

So where does "The Experience" fall in the plans of the Yankees? I'll tell you EXACTLY where the Yankees are going with this.

As we all know the Yankees have some leaks in their starting rotation. The latest pitcher to try the starting rotation was Brian Gordon. Although his debut with the Yankees was good, his last start was below average, which is probably the catalyst in bringing back Mitre. In addition, the Yankees' bullpen is short-handed and needed a long guy for support. Mitre not only provides the short-term long-man depth in the 'pen, but also could be used in a spot-start situation if Gordon diminishes.

So in short, Mitre is a Yankee to give them short-term support until Colon and Hughes arrive back from the DL. Now, how long will he be a Yankee is tough to determine. If the Yankees do trade for a top-line starter, then Mitre will likely be designated for assignment, just like he currently was by the Brewers. But for now, for minimal cash, the Yankees do have a decent insurance policy in "The Experience".
