The New York Jets have waived tight end Brian Parker Tuesday afternoon after he failed a physical. Parker, a graduate of the University at Albany, was acquired by the Jets from the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. This preseason the 6"4', 265 pound Henrietta native caught two passes for 20 yards.

After starting the 2015 season with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent, Parker was picked up by the Chiefs and played in nine games last season. A couple weeks ago it was said that Parker suffered a shoulder strain. It's unknown at this point whether the shoulder injury was related to the failed physical.

Parker graduated from UAlbany in 2014 and caught 39 passes for 500 yards to go with five touchdowns his senior season.
