Unique Gourmet Marketplace Moving Into Old Saratoga Price Chopper
Since April, the bottom floor of an apartment complex in downtown Saratoga Springs has been vacant. There was a nearly twenty thousand square foot Price Chopper mini supermarket that occupied the area making it easy for residents to shop. Now a new tenant is moving in offering a unique culinary experience.
Why Did The Price Chopper Move Out?
The smaller version of Price Chopper that occupied 55 Railroad Place in downtown Saratoga Springs was no longer needed. It was originally built so that Price Chopper could offer a grocery store within walking distance to all of the new apartments in the city. But the large grocery store chain revamped the Price Chopper not far from this location.
It is a seventy thousand square foot Price Chopper SuperCenter just a mile away on Route 50 in Saratoga.
What is Going Into the Old Price Chopper Space?
It will become a specialty gourmet marketplace and will be run by a chef. Adam Fonti is the owner of PDT Catering and will turn the nineteen thousand-square-foot store into sections. He will have a specialty grocery store, a place for private events, a full-service bar, offer cooking classes, and sell home goods and gifts according to the Albany Business Review. They will call it PDT Market: Ponne De Terre-Specialty Grocery-Eat, Shop, Learn.
According to PDT Catering's Facebook page,
The market will open in fall 2022. Our vision is to create a distinctive experience that transports people to another place, and in the process transforms our community. We look forward to being Saratoga's favorite place to eat, shop, and learn.
