The 'Cats needed a win or a Connecticut loss and they got the latter, with the Tigers falling to the Lowell Spinners.

Coming off a road trip in Brooklyn, the 'Cats looked lethargic on Monday. They got ahead 1-0 in the first inning on a groundout by Derek Fisher, but then gave up five unanswered runs before scoring a run on a Fisher sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth.

The 'Cats are now 43-26 this season and can set their sights on home-field advantage for the playoffs. They trail the Hudson Valley Renegades in the chase for the league's best record by one game.

The ValleyCats are looking for their second consecutive New York-Penn League title.
