Despite clinching the division title on Monday, the 'Cats had not officially won the league outright, because they could have finished tied with Connecticut. But the 'Cats hold the tiebreaker over the Tigers so it ultimately didn't matter.

Tri-City won yesterday in large part due to six Brooklyn errors, two of which came in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied at 3-3.

With runners at 2nd and 3rd and nobody out, infielder Alex Hernandez hit a ball to shallow to right field. The run would not have scored as the ball was not deep enough, but the ball was dropped by the Brooklyn outfielder, allowing Mott Hyde to easily score from third.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Tri-City, who had also lost seven of eight since the all-star break.
