The ValleyCats used an impressive month of August and post all-star break to clinch the Stedler Division in the New York-Penn League and now a four-game winning streak has Tri-City set up to take some of its best baseball into the postseason.

A 6-3 win Saturday night at Vermont marked the fourth straight win the 'Cats who are two games behind the Hudson Valley Renegades for the best record in the league with two games remaining in the regular season. Four teams make the playoffs and the squad that finishes with the top record gets a series with the wild card-clinching team.

The ValleyCats have handled a number of transactions this season and manager Jason Bell has kept all of his guys on the same page despite the promotions, reassignments and rehab stints.

The regular season wraps up on Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd with a road game against the Vermont Lake Monsters and the playoffs will start next week.
