The Tri-City ValleyCats saw their season end on Thursday night at Joe Bruno Stadium.

The 'Cats lost to the Staten Island Yankees in Game 2 of the New York-Penn League playoffs opening round by a score of 10-5.

Tri-City got down 7-0 after three innings in a rain-soaked game as starter Ralph Garza was tagged for all seven runs in 2.1 innings.

The 'Cats got two hits from Dexture McCall, Kolbey Carpenter and Hector Roa. Roa had a two-run home run in the ninth inning.

The ValleyCats season ends after a fourth straight Stedler Division title. Tri-City had advanced to the last two NY-PL championship series. They won the league championship in 2013.

Bobby Wernes led the way for the 'Cats in 2015, hitting .346 and winning the league batting title. Infielder Brooks Marlow led the team with six home runs while McCall led the way with 37 RBIs.

The next step for the ValleyCats players is likely to head to full season A ball next year with Quad Cities.
