Alex Rodriguez had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee on July 11, and hasn't played for the Yankees since July 7.  A-Rod is hitting .295 with 13 home runs and 52 RBIs this season.  Asked if he'll play on Sunday against the Minnesota Twins, A-Rod said, "I think so.  My mouth is getting watery here.  I'm ready to play.  I've watched enough baseball."

Manager Joe Girardi was asked about playing Rodriguez on Sunday about the Twins.  Girardi responded by saying, "The only way that I wouldn't is if maybe he came in tomorrow and said, 'You know, I don't feel good today.'  Then we'll wait.  But it's very possible he'll be a player for us."
