San Diego Chargers safety Atari Bigby is from the University of what?  This is definitely a new one for NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Atari Bigby is from the University of Jah Rastafari High. Who knew? I could’ve sworn that Bigby went to Central Florida, but it turns out that he graduated from the University of Jah Rastafari High. The 8th-year player made this known during a 31-24 win by the New Orleans Saints over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday night.

These Sunday Night Football player introductions are becoming more ridiculous all of the time. I won’t be surprised if a player says his name and then mentions that he likes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

As a guy who is a nerd about where these players went to college, I hate that a lot of players don’t simply mention the college that they went to. I really hate it when Notre Dame players elect not to mention that they went to the University of Notre Dame. Have some pride in your university.

I don’t know any players that went to the University of Miami that don’t state their name followed by, “The U.” They have pride in their university. Former Notre Dame player Derek Landri (who now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles) should mention that he is a former Golden Domer, not give a shoutout to his former high school team or whatever random thing that’s off the top of his head.
