As a lifelong Capital Region sports fan who has just so happened to be in radio for most of my professional life the chance to “join the Team” pun intended was the kind of offer I’ve been dreaming of. Growing up a Yankees, Knicks and Raiders fan(a punishment I share with my beautiful daughter Ella) I’ve felt the pain and success that comes with diehard fandom. Luckily for me my friends that love the Giants have adopted me so I have a reason to watch football after the Raiders have been eliminated EARLY every season for the last 10 plus years. I’m excited to talk sports and enjoy multiple happy hours with all the sports fans of the Cap Region…even the Red Sox fans.

In a pretty wild NFL offseason the New York Giants have remained fairly quiet. Believe it or not that's a good thing. How long will the good times last for Big Blue? Jets And Giants Fans Will Get To Return To MetLife In 2021
Last season didn't provide a ton of wins for either the Jets or the Giants but that wasn't the worst part of the 2020 NFL season. The worst part was Giants fans couldn't cheer on their improved team that was in a playoff hunt right down to the wire and Jets fans couldn't let Adam Gase know how much they wanted him fired in person. Good luck to both Giants head coach Joe Judge and Jets head coach Robert Saleh because the fans are coming back! New Jersey Governor Phil Murphey had a busy Monday as he legalized marijuana and paved the way for fans to return to sporting events.

Albany Is Getting A New Pro Sports Team
Here's what we know for sure, there's another professional sports team coming to Albany. That team will play its home games at the Times Union Center and there's a press conference tomorrow at 4 pm to fill in the rest. Here's what we're hearing, that team will be a lacrosse team. It's been the better part of two decades since the Albany Attack left the Times Union Center for San Jose California leaving the Capital Region without a professional Lacrosse team. It looks like that drought may be over.
Soccer Legend To Speak At HVCC Virtual Event
It is far from a secret that soccer is not my favorite sport but I love the US teams. Whether it's in the Olympics or World Cup I will watch and cheer for the US Men's and Women's teams. The women's team is always easier to root for because let's face it the ladies are better in international play than the men are. So when I heard that Hudson Valley Community College is having one of the best, most successful, and Iconic players of all time Abby Wambach speak at a virtual event they got my attention.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles have traded Quarterback Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts. Even though the 2nd pick of the 2016 NFL draft had fell on some hard times, New York Giants fans should be pretty happy he's gone.
The 2021 Tri-City ValleyCats Is A Different But Welcome Sight
Sports fans here in the Capital Region have been through changes, challenges, and loss... and that was BEFORE the COVID-19 pandemic. So when we lost a season of Tri-City ValleyCats baseball to the coronavirus it stung but we've had worse. Then we found out that the MLB wasn't including the Cats in their new vision of the Minors. That felt like the pain we've all been through way too many times of losing one of OUR teams. Luckily that loss didn't last very long. The ValleyCats are now in the Frontier League and with the release of their 2021 schedule, we get our first look at Capital Region baseball fan's new normal.
Knicks’ Julius Randle Evolves From Trade Bait To All-Star [INTERVIEW]
It's been almost a month since the last time we had Newsday's Steve Popper on the show. In that time the Knicks have gone 7-4 and Julius Randle has become a real candidate to start in the NBA All-Star Game on March 7th. Popper seemed less than optimistic at that point about the Knicks talent both now and in the near future. Have the Knicks and more directly Forward Julius Randle showed enough in the last few weeks to change Popper's opinion of them?
Watt Are The Chances JJ Watt Joins The Buffalo Bills?
Former Houston Texan JJ Watt is being wooed by just about everyone in the NFL during his "wild" free agency. Former teammates, family members, and even Bills' wide receiver Stefon Diggs have been very public about wanting to add the three-time defensive player of the year to their teams. Does Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino think Buffalo has a legit shot of signing Watt?
