Big Papi Calls Out Joe Girardi
David Ortiz wasn't happy that Yankees' manager Joe Girardi questioned his bat flip on Tuesday night. Big Papi has a simple message for the Yankees' skipper.
Big Papi says Joe Girardi should, "Take it like a man." David Ortiz hit a home run off of Yankees' rookie Hector Noesi on Tuesday night. Ortiz flipped his bat in the air after hitting the home run. Joe Girardi wasn't a fan of Ortiz's antics. Ortiz wasn't a fan of Joe Girardi not being a fan.
After the Red Sox beat the Yankees 11-6 on Wednesday night, David Ortiz said, "I don't care what Joe Girardi says. I don't want to have you guys asking me the same questions. I got almost 370 bombs in the big leagues and everybody wants to make a big deal because I bat-flip one of them. (Expletive) that (expletive), man."
The bat flip wasn't a big deal. Sure, it was unnecessary but let's not make it out to be like Ortiz spat in somebody's face. I appreciate the honesty too. It wasn't exactly politically correct, but I'll take expletives over cliches any day. We just gave 110% out there? "(Expletive) that (expletive), man."
