Union Up to No. 2 Nationally

After a 2-0 season-opening weekend, Union College is now up to No. 2 in the latest USCHO national poll.

The Dutchmen, who were ranked No. 5 previously, defeated American International College and New Hampshire as they opened defense of their national title.

Local Hockey Teams Open Tonight

After winning the national title last season, Union College is back on the ice tonight. The Dutchmen open up the 2014-15 year at Messa Rink tonight against American International College (8:07 p.m.).

RPI Kicker Drawing NFL Interest

RPI kicker Andrew Franks is reportedly seeing interest from NFL teams.

The senior led RPI in scoring a year ago with 53 points and broke the school record by kicking a 51-yarder this season. He was a Division III First-Team All-America selection and was RPIs Special Teams Player of the Year in 2013

RPI Head Coach Seth Appert Previews the ECAC Tournament

 

The 53rd annual ECAC tournament kicks off tomorrow, and rolls on through the next three weekends. RPI, who secured themselves a 7th seed with a solid regular season, will face 10th seeded Dartmouth in the first round as they try to make a deep run.

Earlier on Joe & Brix, RPI Head Coach Seth Appert joined the program to talk about his team and their prospects heading into the weekend. During their conversation, Appert shed some light on his team’s 14-14-6 season, their chances in The Dance, what his team learned for their earlier, highly publicized fight with the Union Flying Dutchmen.

RPI Hockey makes a big announcment in regards to their 2016 class.

9 players were mentioned by RPI coach Seth Appert. Among this group are 5 forwards, 3 defenseman and a goaltender.
