Goz’s Weekly College Basketball Poll (Week 2)
This season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college basketball season. My poll philosophy is ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty five best in the country following that given week’s games. These rankings tip off this week and will run until January, when then we shift our projections to "mock brackets" . The complete poll is listed below. (This Poll was conducted at 1201Am Wednesday November 16th)
1) Kentucky
2) Indiana
3) North Carolina
4) Villanova
5) Kansas
6) Duke
7) Virginia
8) Wisconsin
9) Arizona
10) Xavier
11) Louisville
12) Michigan State
13) Oregon
14) Gonzaga
15) Purdue
16) UCLA
17) Syracuse
18) St.Mary’s
19) West Virginia
20) Texas
21) Baylor
22) Rhode Island
23) Iowa State
24) Dayton
25) Cincinnati
Some early shake up at the top- Kansas lost to Indiana. Michigan State lost to Kentucky. Duke lost to Kansas. Already a lot of movement atop of the board after just one week. Kentucky remains in our number one spot but how about Indiana jumping from 8th to 2nd. Indiana led by Thomas Bryant and the rest of the team is a team that already looked impressive against Kansas. That’s why the Hoosiers come in at #2.
UConn Over Rated?!- It sure seems like it after the Huskies lost games to both Wagner and Northeastern. Since UConn plays in the AAC, it may take a while for this team to climb back into the Top 25.
Rhode Island or Cincinnati Likely to Move Up Next Week- These two ranked teams tip off against each other later in the week. We could see either the Rams or Bearcats jump into the top 15 ranking as early as next week.
