It was absolutely no surprise to anyone whatsoever when Caitlin Clark was selected number one overall in the WNBA draft on Monday night.  She is arguably the best women's college basketball player of all time and is arguably the most decorated.  I have no doubt in my mind that she will do so well at the next level in the pros.  She is extremely gifted and has done so much tog row the game of women's basketball.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:
Caitlin Clark will be an All Star in her first year in the WNBA. She is perfect fit for the Indiana Fever because she won't have to carry her team because they have plenty to talent on their roster. Clark can play her game which includes elevating the play of everyone around her. Watch Clark player at a high level in year one and then win the MVP a few years down the road. And while she is doing that watch the WNBA ratings take a healthy leap forward.

I will be closely following her WNBA career as millions of other people will be too.  The Indiana Fever will be competitive for years to come with having Clark on their team.  I hope she has a long and healthy career.  It is still so awesome that she came right thru Albany and played at the MVP Arena with Iowa.  People who were in attendance will never forget it as it was one of the greatest sporting events in Capital Region sports history.
