Ivan Nova followed Andy Pettitte and Phil Hughes with another tremendous outing as the Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1.

The Yankees were the first to get on the board as Mark Teixeria blasted a Home Run in the bottom of the 2nd and Robbie Cano did the same in the bottom of the 4th. In the Bottom of 8th, Nick Swisher hit an RBI double to score Dewayne Wise and Eric Chavez would score Swisher with an RBI Double of his own. It seemed like it might be a shut out win, but Desmond Jennings and B.J. Upton would hit back to back triples to get on the board.

Ivan Nova had a great outing going 8 innings and allowing the 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 5 and walked only 1. The only trouble Nova had was in the top of the 9th allowing the two triples. Rafael Soriano would take care of the 9th retirng the side.
