Washington Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth hit a walk-off home run against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday night to conclude an epic 13-pitch at bat.

Jayson Werth was finally productive for the Washington Nationals on Thursday night.  After signing a 7-year, $126 million deal in 2010, Werth has been a tremendous disappointment.  Werth hit only 20 home runs with 58 RBIs in 561 at bats last season.  He was worse this year only hitting 5 home runs with 31 RBIs in 300 at bats.

Werth battled St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn in a 13-pitch at bat during Game 4 of the NLDS on Thursday night.  Werth eventually won the battle by hitting a walk-off home run to win the game for the Nationals.  Cardinals' starter Adam Wainwright will face Nationals' Cy Young Award candidate Gio Gonzalez in a deciding Game 5 on Friday night.  Listen to coverage of the Cardinals @ Nationals tonight on 104.5 The Team following the New York Yankees postgame show.
