The Monmouth University basketball team is off to a 4-2 start this season after having beaten UCLA, USC and Notre Dame already.

Why should you care? The Hawks play in the MAAC and will play Siena twice this season, but they are also led in part by Section II product Collin Stewart.

Stewart, the Glenville native and Mekeel Christian graduate, had 19 points in the season-opening win over UCLA on the road in Los Angeles.

He joined us today to talk about the Hawks season, the stigma that small-school players won't translate to the Division 1 level, and his career-high 21 points that he scored last year against Siena.

Furthermore, we asked Stewart what led him to Mekeel in the first place, and we found out about the Monmouth bench players, who are gaining national recognition for their celebrations.
