In the 3rd Quarter of yesterday’s NFC Championship game, Bears’ QB Jay Cutler left the game with an apparent knee injury.  Current and former NFL players came out of the woodwork to rip Cutler in the classiest way they know how, Twitter.

Without any knowledge of the severity of Cutler’s injury, here is what NFL players were tweeting about Jay Cutler leaving the game (pardon the grammar and spelling, these are direct tweets from athletes, keep expectations low):

Ross Tucker: I've hurt my knee playing football 4 times. Never once did I then stand up on sidelines afterwards.

Maurice Jones-Drew:  Hey I think the urban meyer rule is effect right now... When the going gets tough........QUIT..

MJD went on to tweet: "All I'm saying is that he can finish the game on a hurt knee... I played the whole season on one..."

Deion Sanders:  Folks i never question a players injury but i do question a players heart. Truth

Asante Samuel: If he was my teammate I would be looking at him sideways.

Raheem Brock:  Cutler...wut a sissy! This is the NFC Championship game! Guaranteed if it was brett farve..he would still be in the game!

Derrick Brooks: BEARS fans I am so SORRY, I have to be crawling and cant get up to come off field, Josh Freeman would not come out, MEDS ARE AVAILABLE

I’m not saying that Jay Cutler played well yesterday.  No one is saying that.  He was mediocre, as he has been over most of his career.  Caleb Hanie showed lots of heart, just not a lot of talent or experience.  But what the hell, people?  Are we really going to rip this guy before the MRI has even been administered?  Seems to me, Brian Urlacher had it right.  He said:

Nothing like jealous people who are sitting home watching.  Players around the league…right? Yeah, love jealous people when they're watching our game on TV while their season is over.
