The Cortland baseball team won the national championship in 2015 and is off to a 19-3 start this season after beating Cazenovia on Wednesday.

The Red Dragons are led, in part, by Niskayuna native and slugging first baseman Austin Clock. Clock is hitting .388 this season with three home runs and 23 RBIs.

Clock joined us today to talk about the keys to his early season success as well as the team's success as a whole. Furthermore, he talked about the championship run, the level of play in the SUNYAC and how it has increased in the last few years, the mentality of playing in close games and more.

He also spoke about Niskayuna graduate Garrett Whitley, who he played with as a senior in high school (Whitley was a freshman). Whitley was drafted in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays and Clock spoke about how gratifying it is to see Niskayuna put on the national map.
