The Birds and Yanks will play three at Yankee Stadium after playing the same amount last weekend at Camden Yards, a series Baltimore swept.  What will happen in this one?  Here is a series preview. The Yanks come off a four-game sweep in Minnesota where they scored 29 runs.  Can they keep the bats going?

Player to watch:  Robinson Cano.  Cano is hitting .500 in his past seven games with 11 RBI.  Cano has been incredible against the Orioles so far this season, hitting .361 with 13 hits, two home runs and five RBI.

Pitching match-ups:  Friday:  Ivan Nova (2-2, 4.63) vs. RHP Miguel Gonzalez (6-3, 3.77).  Saturday:  Andy Pettitte (5-6, 4.40) vs. RHP Chris Tillman (10-2, 3.68).  Sunday:  Phil Hughes (4-7, 4.55) vs. RHP Jason Hammel (7-5, 5.19).

Prediction:  New York comes in with momentum after the Twins series and Baltimore comes in having lost two of three to the White Sox.  This is a terrific opportunity for the Yankees to get some games back from last week.  But Baltimore is still the better team and they have the pitching edge in every game in the Bronx.  Birds take two of three.
