I know that the Times Union reported Rick Pitino was interested in the head coaching job at Siena now the Jimmy Patsos has resigned. I'm here to tell you there is no way Pitino will be the next coach at Siena. There's a great chance he'll come to Saratoga for track season but he will not be on the sidelines at the Times Union Center for the next basketball season.

Siena is an amazing school and the fans are passionate but Jimmy Patsos made approximately $360,000 a season as coach while Pitino made approximately $5,500,000 a season. I'm aware he's currently unemployed and loves Saratoga but nobody takes that kind of pay cut. The Time Union has even updated their story to say he's not interested. I hate to rain on everyone's parade but Pitino was unrealistic from the start. Keep your focus on guys like Patrick Beilein, he's young, has a winning record and is from Rochester New York. That would be a great get for the University.
