Casper Wells is thriving with his new team.

Last night, the Schenectady native had a tie-breaking RBI single in the seventh inning that gave the Seattle Mariners in a 4-3 victory over the AL West-leading Texas Rangers.

Wells, who was traded to Seattle by Detroit in a 4-player deal on July 30th, went 2 for 3 in the game with 2 walks and 2 singles - the last one driving in Mike Carp from 3rd base.

The Schenectady High School graduate is now hitting .268 with 5 homeruns and 18 RBIs this season in 72 games.

Since his trade in late July, he's started 8 games for the Mariners.  He's 9 for 29 (a .310 average) with a homerun and 6 RBIs during that time.
