NFL free agency is right around the corner and perhaps the top player on the market is former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

There are reports that the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and the Oakland Raiders are all in the mix to land the prized pass rusher, but don't count out the New York Giants.

If it comes down to money, and it most likely will (perhaps upwards of $60M guaranteed), the Giants may not be able to hand over the lump of cash Suh expects, but there may be another way the Giants can lure him in.

Marketing.

Suh's marketing agent is JAY-Z, who, as we all know, is from New York.  Suh has expressed interest in playing in New York, but said he was leaving the decision up to his agent. Could he have meant JAY-Z? Only time will tell. But if he looks to market himself, there is no place better than the big apple.

From a football standpoint it makes sense for Suh to come to New York.  If he should sign with the Giants he'd be inheriting a Super Bowl winning tandem at quarterback and head coach, a defensive coordinator who's defense thrives with a strong pass rush, playing next to the newly franchised Jason Pierre-Paul, and a team that is realistically only a few players away from being a threat to make another run at a Super Bowl.

With an offense on the rise and a defense that will most certainly be better than last season's, it makes a lot of sense for the Giants and Suh to come to terms and put the nasty defensive linemen in a Giants uniform.
