Bengals v. Giants Blacked Out As NFL Continues To Abuse Fans
The New York Giants may be the Super Bowl Champions, they may be leading their division and they may have a superstar quarterback, but that simply isn't enough for the fans of Cincinnati. Due to the Bengals inability to sell out Sunday's home game against the Giants, the NFL has announced that the game will be blacked out in that area.
MSG-Time Warner Cable Fight Could Cost Us MSG/MSG+
For two years Time Warner Cable and Madison Square Garden have been unsuccessfully negotiating against a ticking clock, a clock which officially runs out when the ball drops on the new year. If the two media conglomerates can't come together by then, much of the Capital Region will lose MSG and MSG+.
NHL Blacking Out Ranger Games
The New York Rangers will finally open the partially renovated Madison Square Garden tonight, but chances are you won't get to see it. Despite the existence of what seems like a substantial Ranger fandom in the Capital Region, Ranger games, including tonight's home opener (according to the Times Union), are routinely blacked out. So unless you're lucky enough to have NHL Center Ice, and the money it costs to buy such a package, you're left watching the Sabres, Islanders, Devils, Long Island High School Football or whatever else makes it to MSG over the Broadway Blue Shirts.
