Ohio, Cincinnati and Xavier all won on Sunday to join Ohio State in the NCAA basketball tournament round of 16. Top-seeded North Carolina and Michigan State also won to advance to the regional semi-finals. Here’s a full recap of the day’s action in the NCAA tournament:

They say never go to bed angry.  But they also say it's best to cool down and not speak from anger. I've chose to ignore both pieces of advice.  Why?  Because despite the general disarray of all of my brackets, one was alive - if Kentucky could beat UConn, I'd win the money.  Then the game happened. And the general lousiness with which the game was played got my blood boiling a bit.  So I went to

In Houston, TX a historic final four took to the court and decided the championship match in college basketball on Saturday. This year's final four broke records for not having any #1 nor #2 seeds and also having the highest combined seed total in history! Butler and VCU, along with UConn and Kentucky battled one another for the right to play in the championship game Monday night.

How's my bracket random Sports Center host? Gee, I don't know. But since when I created the bracket I had yet to have my Screech Powers struck by lighting and go clairvoyant moment (who remembers that episode?) let's just say: I chose, poorly.

Jimmer got Jimmered.  In the end, Jimmer Fredette just ran out of steam as the Sweet 16 wasn't so sweet for BYU. Florida defeated BYU in the Southeast Regional Semifinal, 83-74 in overtime - putting an end to the college career of the Glens Falls native.

The NCAA Tournament is great theatre. Don't confuse that with great basketball. Everyone is glued to the games right now but is that really good basketball? Brian Noe gives it to us in the Noe Brainer.

I'm sorry to say it but the Big East Conference's performance in the NCAA Tournament tells me one thing - the Big East is a good league with no elite teams. So is it a "great" league?  Well, that's up for debate.

The NCAA Tournament Edition of the "Jimmer Show" premiered in Denver on Thursday night and opening night was quite entertaining. Fredette scored 32 points to lead 3rd seeded BYU to a 74-66 win over #14 Wofford in the Southeast Region.

March Madness is now officially underway.  For a college basketball fan, this is the day you've been waiting for all season long. The first Thursday of the NCAA Tournament is the best sports day of the year.  It's not even close!
