The UAlbany baseball team was facing elimination in the America East Baseball Tournament on Thursday afternoon but came up with a huge win over Binghamton, 4-1.

The Great Danes knocked out the Bearcats in the first elimination game of the league tourney held at Stony Brook.

Fonda native Josh Nethaway went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored to lead UAlbany.

Zach Kraham (Chatham High School) finished his nine-inning outing with a 1 run allowed on nine hits.  He also struck out five.

The Great Danes needed a win today or their season would have ended.  4th seeded UAlbany opened up the America East Tournament yesterday with a 14-2 loss to the host school and top seed, Stony Brook.

UAlbany is now 20-30 on the year.  They will face the loser of Thursday’s second game between Stony Brook and Maine on Friday at 11:00am.
