The Danes shot 52 percent for the game and connected on nine three-pointers in the rout. Four Danes scored in double-figures including Peter Hooley and Sam Rowley with 14 apiece.

UAlbany stymied Maine on the defensive end in the second half, holding the Black Bears to 5-22 shooting in the final 20 minutes. It was just a 39-33 Danes lead at the half.

“It’s nice to get the first conference game out of the way; I was very pleased with our defensive effort in the second half,” said head coach Will Brown. We had to stand our ground. We were able to get out and run and get everyone involved. Good things happened as a result.”

UAlbany will travel to New Hampshire on Tuesday for the second game of league play.
