Congratulations to Union Hockey Sophomore Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere as he has been named the preliminary team to tryout for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team. The announcement came from U.S.A. Hockey

The players chosen will compete for spots on the team that will compete in the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships. This tournament competes December 26th through January 5th in Ufa, Russia.

Union head coach Rick Bennett commented about his defenseman "we are excited for Shayne to have this opportunity to earn a spot on team USA for the World Junior Championships. Shayne has come into his own as one of the top offensive defensemen in our league and has made a name for himself as a big time player in college hockey. We hope this opportunity furthers his development as a hockey player."

Training camp for all the players invited will take part in a training camp from the 16th to the 18th and takes place at the New York Rangers training facility in Tarrytown, N.Y.

Gostisbehere, from Florida is in his sophomore season is third on the team in scoring with 13 total points including five goals.
