The NHL announced the shutdown of training camps and, for now the pre-season, pending the latest NHL lockout. For hockey fans it will be interesting to see if minor league and college hockey can fill any of the void.

In that vein the NBC Sports Network has announced that two Union College hockey games will be picked up by the network for nationally televised broadcasts.

The first game appearing on the NBC Sports Network will be on January 11th vs. the Princeton Tigers.

Three weeks later Union will host a nationally televised contest, on February 1, when they battle Dartmouth University. Both games will start at 7:30p.m.

The last time Union hosted a nationally televised game at Messa Rink was back in 2010. The NHL network at that time picked up Unions 11-2 demolition of  Clarkson.
