Union College senior forward Kelly Zajac and sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick each earned ECAC Hockey weekly awards, the league announced Tuesday. Zajac earned ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honors, while Grosenick was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season. Both had key roles in helping the Dutchmen earn two wins last weekend against Harvard and Rensselaer.

Zajac had a hand in five of Union's seven goals on the weekend, leading the Dutchmen to wins against Harvard (2-0) and Rensselaer (5-1). Against Harvard, Zajac had the primary assist on Mat Bodie's power-play goal with 3.6 seconds left in the second period, and added a goal in the third period to help Union seal a 2-0 win over the Crimson. On Saturday night against RPI, Zajac matched a career-high with three assists in a 5-1 win over the Engineers. Zajac moved into second place on the school's Division I assist list with 78 career assists.

Grosenick had another solid weekend in net for the Dutchmen, recording his third shutout of the season with 18 saves against Harvard and followed that with a 39 save performance against Rensselaer on Saturday night. Grosenick also added his first-career point with an assist on the game-winning goal in the first period against the Engineers. Grosenick now leads the nation with a 1.60 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage. He is tied for fifth in the nation with three shutouts.

Union will continue ECAC Hockey play with two road games this weekend, beginning with a trip to Ingalls Rink on Friday night to face Yale at 7:00 p.m. in New Haven, CT.
