Head Coach Colleen Mullen and this UAlbany women's basketball team are off to a great start.  They are a perfect unbeaten at home at 6-0 and currently sit with a 12-2 overall record.  They have so many good scorers including Kayla Cooper, Helene Haegerstrand, and Kevin Huerter's younger sister, Meghan Huerter.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
The UAlbany women’s basketball team has a lot answers this season and none bigger than Meghan Huerter. The Shen grad who transferred from Providence is a difference maker for head coach Colleen Mullen. Huerter comes off the bench and is shooting 50 percent from three-point range and she a such a high basketball IQ it's almost like having coach on the floor. Vermont and Maine were picked ahead of UAlbany in the preseason polls, but the Great Danes have enough talent to win the America East Championship.

MJ and I had on UAlbany women's basketball head coach Colleen Mullen earlier on Friday afternoon right here on Big Board Sports.  Below is our full interview with her.

Next up for the Great Danes are the NJIT Highlanders at home on Saturday at 2 p.m.  They will look to obviously improve to a glossy 7-0 at home at the awesome brand new Broadview Center.  They should be the favorites to win the America East conference and led by players such as Cooper and Huerter, they can beat just about anybody.  I expect a win on Saturday and a convincing one too because Colleen Mullen is a great head coach now in her sixth year.
