I was not overly impressed by Juan Soto's introductory New York Yankees zoom press conference on Tuesday evening.  He didn't seem too enthused and barely smiled at least from what I saw.  He also dodged and dismissed the question of his contract extensions which can be too settling for Yankee fans to hear.  As of now Soto is a one year rental and then who knows after that.  He could test the waters of free agency or he could extend with the Yankees but he will want a lot of money.  Soto is a generational talent and immediately improves the Yankee offense once he hits the field opening day.  I will say I'm impressed that the Yankees and general manager Brian Cashman got this done.  It is an aggressive move and screams win now which the Yankees want and need to do here without a trip to the World Series in now 14 years.

MJ is of course a massive Yankee fan and homer as I like to call him.  We went back and forth on his press conference earlier this morning right here on Big Board Sports.  Below is our full conversation on this.

I want to see the Yankees do well as we are the home for the New York Yankees right here on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.  Soto helps immensely and I think he will have a great season but the Yankees need to add more to surround Cole, Judge, and Soto.  2024 will be a massive year for the Pinstripes.
