Saturday night was the end of an incredible collegiate career for Joseph Girard III as Clemson fell to Alabama in the Elite Eight.  Girard finished with 19 points and was clutch per usual.  Girard had a great career at Syracuse under head coach Jim Boeheim as well as a great final year at Clemson head coach Brad Brownell.  Both coaches have had nothing but nice things to say about JG3.  I still remember covering him at Glens Falls and new he was going to be a special player and have a successful career.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
Joseph Girard III capped off an illustrious college career with a hard -fought loss to Alabama on Saturday in the NCAA Elite 8. What a great run by Girard who went from Glens Falls high school as New York States All -time leading scorer to Syracuse and finally one memorable season at Clemson on win away from the Final Four.' He ended his college career in vintage fashion on Saturday by knocking down his trademark three-point shots late the second half that nearly propelled the Tigers to the upset  win . JG III could end up playing overseas but if we seen the last of Girard on the basketball court.

Now the next chapter of Girard's life begins and we wish him nothing but the best of luck with everything.  I will miss covering him as closely as I have as JG3 is a terrific player and an even better person.
