The UAlbany football team signed CBA's Donald Jones this week and it is a great move by head coach Greg Gattuso and company.  He is a dynamic athlete that is very fast and will make an excellent defensive back or wide receiver perhaps in the slot for UAlbany next season.  The fact that the Great Danes had such a historic season making it all the way to the FCS Semifinals, only makes it an advantage in recruiting if you are the coaching staff this offseason.  More players are going to want to come to Albany and play in this program with this team in the CAA conference.  It makes it even better when the signings are local 518 players.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
Donald Jones would make a great slot receiver for UAlbany head coach Greg Gattuso. Jones the best high school football player this season with CBA will get a good look at defensive back next season for the Great Danes but Jones has so much speed he would be a big weapon at receiver. Nice to see Jones staying local and joining a program coming off the best season in the history of the program.

UAlbany has another tough schedule this season including a road trip back to Idaho and to West Virginia.  There are a bunch of new players and faces but Coach Gattuso will be back and so will some returning players and this Great Danes team willbe back and better than ever for the 2024 season.
