Yankees get a much needed win in Anaheim thanks to Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod provided the go-ahead 2-run home run which gave the Yankees a 3-1 lead as they hold on for the 3-2 victory.

What made this particular win so important? What's next for the Bronx Bombers?

Thanks to this victory, the Yankees improve to 5-3 on the road trip. For any American League team, especially an AL East team, coming home with a .500 record or better is a huge feat to accomplish on the west coast. Especially with how the Yankees started 1-2 in Seattle, going 5-3 now guarantees an over .500 record for their road trip as they get ready to host the Red Sox next week.

A bright spot for the Yankees is Nick Swisher. Since his struggles he has been hitting the ball real hard. He recorded a double on Saturday night, nearly missed another home run, and had another loud out as well. On this road trip he has smacked two home runs, including the big 3-run shot in Oakland. He could have had a third HR in Seattle but was robbed by Gutierez in center field.

The Yankees conclude their road trip on Sunday afternoon before heading home to host their AL East rival Red Sox beginning Tuesday.
