518 Native & Indians Hitting Coach Matt Quatraro Joins Big Board Sports
On the same day that the Cleveland Indians attempt to clinch their first World Series title since 1948, a member of the coaching staff carved out the time to join Big Board Sports. Matt Quatraro, assistant hitting coach for The Tribe, is a native of Bethlehem, New York, and went on to play his college baseball at Old Dominion. He then played professionally in the minor leagues through the late 1990's and into the early 2000's before starting his career as a coach. He worked in the Tampa Bay Rays system for a decade before making the move to Cleveland in 2014. We spoke with Quatraro about what it would mean to win a World Series ring, what it's like coaching under future Hall of Famer Terry Francona, and what the atmosphere has been like in Cleveland.
